Planning Your Arrival


This section of the website will review some of the things you will need to think about before you move to Windsor-Essex. Once you have made your decision to move here, you will need to figure out a way of getting here.

There are many different ways that you can travel to our community, so you will need to pick the one that works out best for you and your family. Depending on where you are coming from, you may need to think about the following ways of travelling:

However you decide to travel, you will need to book tickets ahead of time. There is also the possibility that you will need to take more than one way of transportation to get here, such as taking a bus and flying.

If you have family or friends in our community, you may want to see if you can stay with them when you first arrive here. It will be helpful if you let them know ahead of time.

If you do not have family or friends to stay with, then you will need to find a temporary place to stay when you arrive. This may mean staying at one of our local hotels. If you are able to book a hotel before coming to Canada, you will not have to worry about quickly finding a place to stay once you arrive here. Hotels can be booked online before you leave your home country.

Depending on how you arrive in Windsor-Essex you may need to find a way of getting to where you will be staying for your first few nights. Family or friends may be able to help get you to where you need to be, or you can call or wave down a taxi cab.
