Windsor-Essex County understands how important it is for you and your family to be safe. In Canada’s 2011 Crime Statistics, Essex County had “5 of the counties 10 safest cities.” Our local police services are here to help keep our communities safe. We have programs and resources available locally and electronically to make sure that you understand the steps you can take to keep your family safe.

The Safety Village

To help with safety awareness, we have The Safety Village (en Français). The Safety Village provides hands-on educational opportunities to help our community stay safe. Their programs and resources are available for children, youth, adults and seniors. They offer a variety of videos, events, seminars and presentations to help teach you about safety in Windsor-Essex County.

On site they have The Rotary Children’s Safety Village. This miniature neighbourhood has smaller versions of buildings from our community. Your children can ride miniature vehicles throughout the village as they learn about safety in our community.
